Project Description

Farmhouse Renovation & Barn Conversion, Watermillock

The brief called for the conversion of an old cow shed into a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym.  The old hay barn was converted to a garden store on the ground floor and ‘entertaining space’ on the first floor.  the pig sty was demolished abd a double garage was constructed.  the farmhouse was renovated and a link made to the swimming pool area.

The planning approval called for the introduction of a bat roost above the double garage as the current roosts within the cow shed and hay barn were to be removed.

The swimming pool uses a UV filter and is heated via a solar water heating system on the roof of the plant room.  The whole ground floor and the first floor of the extension incorporated an underfloor heating system powered by the same oil boiler-solar panel system.

The construction was block cavity with render finish to new walls.  Existing walls were tanked where required and dry lined with extra insulation.

ADL were involved from initial design through to administration of the construction contract and completion.
